The world does not follow the rules of Google
A few days ago Sergey Brin, Google co-founder Larry Page along, gave an exclusive interview to the British newspaper The Guardian in which reflected their fears of those who are against the openness and freedoms offered by the Network, and that for it is embodied in Apple and Facebok. For Sergey, these two computer giants are dedicated to stem the access controls in each of the new applications or device s that launched. Battlefield, your mobile phone
This text is an article published in Business and Finance and can be read in pdf here .
Since Google took the Android market, its operating system for smartphones, seems to have intensified the war between large technology companies. The Mountain View company is not content with possessing absolute hegemony on the Internet, but since you filed for two years the new free software, Android, and has earned 1,000 million euro profit. continue with this success, the company expects to gain a dominant position in the mobile phone market, as is the case with the web. Before he arrived Android manufacturers had two options to choose from: the system of Microsoft, Windows Mobile, or develop their own software, as Nokia does.
With Android's foray in this market, Microsoft has lost significant market share and, as happened in the field of internet, it seems that it will recover. Currently only 5% of smartphones worldwide use Windows, compared to 17.7% who already works with Android. With respect to Apple, which launched its iPhone in 2007, has sold so far this year 14.1 million of them, 91% more than the same period in 2009. Although, Apple is a tough competitor since the user of this brand is usually faithful and always alert developments launched.
Still, in the first quarter of this year in the U.S. sales of Android mobile phones already exceeded sales of iPhone. There are voices on the Internet announcing the possible stagnation of the Internet giant for its many fronts, as suspicion about its dominant position in internet. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Google Inc continues to expand and only this year has acquired 23 companies, always leaving open new revenue streams. And the company is not content to have a monopoly on Internet. Google wants to monopolize the user, wants to become indispensable in your life to date technology and has already reached the mobile. Microsoft for its part has been numerous attempts to reach the giant and tried to fight the incursion of competitor announcing the creation of the new version of Windows Mobile 7, but the launch seemed to take forever since suffered numerous delays and in fact has not had much impact.
While Microsoft has lost the opportunity to have their space on the Internet and now is poised to pass the same on smartphones. If Android sales continue to rise, and the other companies put no remedy, perhaps in a few years we will continue talking about the dominant position of Google, but this time in the smartphone market. What is clear is that the battlefield is now on your mobile and it seems no trenches.

Google puts the eye in Twitter
This text is an article published by the Corporate Dossier and can be read in pdf here.
During this year, the social network Twitter has dramatically increased its number of users. Currently 175 million people use this network to communicate, if it is true that Facebook continues to be a favorite among surfers. Twitter, despite some glitches suffered this year, continues its growth in the network so slow, but safe.
Given this growth, Google might be planning to buy social network. After his failure in the launch of its social network, Orkut, internet giant could expect to pay the amount of 5,000 million for this purchase. And the company's Mountain View too well not tolerate competition in the network and, as happened at the time with Microsoft, Facebook stands up to taking all possible actions within its power to curb its growth and popularity.
Without going any further, a few days ago Google changed the terms of use Gmail contacts, preventing them to be exported to Facebook, not to have a policy of reciprocity. Meanwhile, the social network offered Gmail users an alternative solution consisting of a link that lets you send contacts to a computer and then they can be up to the social network.

But this war of contacts does not stop there, because the response of Gmail has been hanging up a sign addressed to the user in asking are you super sure you want to import your contact information with your friends to a service you will not leave them out? The user what matters is the good service rendered and before such outrage should have the option to answer "I am extremely confident that this is absurd. Leave me alone. "
Facebook has 500 million users and has come to stand as the most visited page, above even the Internet giant. Google, using its standard practice with competitors when he sees danger its predominant position in the network, leaves her friendly face, that to which we are accustomed, lays aside his 'Dont be evil' and puts all media which has to remain the only and the best.
If true buying Twitter, Google failure that obtained with the launch of its social network to market would be eliminated at a stroke and, incidentally, makes it clear who's the boss in a Facebook network. On the other hand, would leave for Twitter background that is currently on the market of social networking. Finally carried out this purchase would certainly be a beneficial act for both companies and we know that Google puts the eye where ...

Unity is strength
This text is an article published in the Corporate Dossier and can be read in pdf here
In the coming weeks, Facebook and Skype announced their union. With this alliance Facebook users can send text messages to phones, make calls and even video calls to contacts who wish via Skype. This agreement is intended to unite in a way closer to the 560 million registered Skype users with 500 million users of Facebook.
With this combination of services, including Facebook continues its battle against Google's network, currently finalizing a voice over IP service (VoIP, for its acronym in English), by which you can make calls from the email interface Gmail.
This system would work without opening a program and mark directly from the same inbox of your email account. For some time, Google tries to enter the social networking market with little success. Earlier this year, the company launched Google Buzz in Gmail built, offering Internet users the chance to talk and share all kinds of online resources, publicly or privately, and that was intended to compete with Facebook.

But this service had little acceptance largely due to the privacy issues that were generated, which although were corrected by the company, the number of interactions Buzz did not reach anywhere near the number of users of other social networks. According to a study released by comScore, U.S. Internet users spent 41.1 million minutes on Facebook during the month of August this year, while Google remained 39.8.
The act of measuring how much time users spend on particular websites is an interesting value, but rarely measured, there are many studies about it as you may have regarding the number of visits. This value reflects user satisfaction with the site and, in this sense, Google lost the battle. But Internet users' habits change and progress towards new services is the order of the day.
Thus, the controversial and unexpected union is the result of a logical evolution in the services offered by Facebook, and that, according to the company, will strengthen even more the number of users who use this network. Google is moving away from its position of dominance on the Internet, at least as far as social networking is concerned. And while Internet users still prefer Google as search on the net, it is difficult entry into the increasingly popular world of social networking, we can be at the beginning of the end. And while Google was the first to be taught a lesson , this time the story should be applied again, because there is strength.
Hincándole the tooth to Google
This text is an article published in the Journal of Navarra and can be read in pdf here.
This past September, Pablo Hernandez, deputy director of the General Society of Authors and Editors (SGAE), expressed his opinion about Google's business model, calling it "dull". Pablo Hernandez also criticized the dominance of the Internet giant, which accounts for over 96% of searches performed in the network in our country. Not the first time there are such statements from the SGAE, in addition to publishers, media groups or governments of foreign countries that open their fronts around Google.
These companies and governments fear the empire that has been built around the company: supoder, its large capacity and its ambitious economic interests, which are viewed with suspicion. Earlier this year, Teddy Bautista, president of SGAE Direcciónde Councilof, already ruled about the ongoing conflict Telefónica and Google, whose intention is to charge Google Inc. for use of its facilities, as it is essential for their activity.
It appears that the operator does not have enough to charge a monthly fixed line fee each user to use their network. To not miss opportunities, waylaid Baptist noting that "it is logical and Google queTelefónica copper luegonos pay us." The fact that the SGAE talk of "dominance" of Google is funny when you consider that this organism, although nonprofit, monopolizes the collection of authors' rights, and has even been questioned by the Commission National Competition (CNC).
SGAE has missed the last sentence of the court in response to demandainterpuesta by Telecinco to You tube, which stated that "does not infringe the intellectual property rights". And is that the Internet is a threat SGAE, uncontrollable in the field is difficult to extend their tentacles, is imposiblede cover. Inplace of that immensity vastness leverage to force their way into other fields in defense of copyright, using this tool for the benefit of their members, they prefer to stay anchored in the culture of vinyl. Truth is that the SGAE has many fronts and has alienated by the whole society.
Visitors are highly regarded to Google, for them is the friendly company, which offers the possibility of obtaining information for free, fast and seemingly limitless. The success of search is reflected in the heavy traffic of visitors, ranks as the web page chelates more view. The business model is so successful that Google users, although certain dyes perceived opacity, would come to his defense because it makes life easier and without charging for it.
But the view we have of the SGAE is very different, much worse than the Treasury, which has historically been the most hated entity icon, for obvious reasons. The negative perception of the SGAE is overwhelming and worse every year, without the guarantee of the rights of authors and publishers do nothing to stop it. Quite the contrary, seem to lack public relations and communication, besides having an overzealous ... and lawyers. Deeste way SGAE Google should take note of the institution being as Spanish with bad press. Networking is easy to find thousands of forums with unfavorable opinions, not to mention social networks and web pages, which are continuous references to his activity "dubious or misleading." Hoyporhoy, SGAE is obsolete in its ideas, its mechanism of action and, of course, in its action with respect to new technologies
Your name in Google
This text is an article published in the newspaper Cinco Dias and can be read in pdf here
More and more Internet users who typed his name into Google or googlean. Thus a study conducted in Germany by the Market Research Institute Innofact whereby 8 out of 10 Internet users have searched confess themselves occasionally in Google and two thirds of those who have done so have found information on themselves in the search. This widespread practice has led even created a Facebook group called I also googled my name.
But is the act of googlearse is the result of vanity or need. Often the surfer wants to know what is said about him on the net and in what places they say, out of curiosity or as a matter of ego. The ego of some artists even leads them to the need for carefully considered in any site that may arise. Artist or not, who among us has not typed in Google out of curiosity?

Whether googlearse is a matter of ego, we need to know what kind of data about ourselves can be obtained through the network, taking into account that, according to the study conducted in Germany, 21% of respondents found the data network with details of their working lives and another 17% of them ran on the network with information about their education.
It follows that the data collected in the search can be decisive in many cases, for example to find employment. When choosing candidates, many companies conduct a search of it on the internet, which can cause some unexpected surprise. Indeed, Google was recently sentenced to compensate a surfer who discovered that by typing its name in the engine search, he returned terms like rape, rapist and prison. Previously the applicant had been convicted of corruption of minors, yet the court held that the search violated his right to privacy and was sentenced to pay compensation of 5,000 euros.
Google is the most visited website in the world, therefore, the fact googlearse may be a mere act of inertia because how many searches performed a day and how much information we can extract from them? Little wonder that we make use of search engine to see what pops up on ourselves. And is that information on the Internet has no boundaries or in this case establishes, rightly or not, Google.
The bubble Facebook.com

Facebook recently surpassed the beautiful figure of 500 million users, I dare say people but is the third most populous country, behind only China and India, and more than ten times the population of Spain. With this data it appears that is thinking about an upcoming IPO with a value close to 33,700 million (26,589 million euros) and developed based on transactions in the secondary markets. This would put the popular social network with a market value higher than the industry consolidated companies traded on Wall Street.
Seeing these figures, my mind shifts to the years 1997-2001, where there was a very strong speculative trend in which the stock of Western nations saw a rapid increase in value due to the advancement of the new sector related companies Internet ea the New Economy. A period marked by the founding (and in many cases, spectacular failure) of a new group of Internet-based companies commonly referred to as Pontocom companies. The combination of a rapid rise in stock prices, individual speculation and the wide availability of venture capital created an exuberant environment. Are we at the dawn of the second bubble?

In 1999 and start of 2000 - in full bubble - the valuation through multiples (based to value the company should behave similarly to the average of its sector companies) was widely used. If you had an idea about the Internet business, it was worth the industry average, but only have a company like yours in the world. Their project was not born and already had a good rating.
In the top 100 most valuable brands, six of the top ten brands belong to the TIME (Internet and new technologies). The number one - Google - is maintained for the fourth consecutive year - 144,260 million (87.757 million euros) - Three technological followed: IBM, Apple and Microsoft leaving behind great icons of consumption as Coca-Cola (5th) or McDonald's (6th). Recently confirmed the sale of Burger King to the venture capital firm 3G Capital for 3,100 million euros. Burger King, the world's second largest fast food, was founded more than 50 years, has more than 11,000 restaurants in 67 countries and 300,000 employees worldwide. Facebook is still very young and should show that you know how to convert visitors into euros. Otherwise you can not stop at any time to re-click the Web 2.0 bubble.

The uncertain future of the flat rate
This text is an article published by the newspaper Diario de Navarra and can be read in pdf here
The flat-rate data in Internet may come to an end.
