Do not touch the jodio code!
Since always gave me panic touching certain things of the portals when operating in a stable.
In the past 45 days we have had a "fun" moment of tension when playing the scheduling of a portal of online games that we had since 2004. This site receives about 25.000-30.000 unique visits a day since 2006 in a stable. Ie figure ever lower those numbers and prints 6,000,000 page views per month.
The stability of the site and traffic can be seen in this graph Analitycs of the first 10 months of the year

In the graph you can see the stability of the site, which is cyclically repeated teeth saw the weekend, except the summer months that the concept weekend away in the webs of leisure.
If the story today because I believe it is especially graphic to be able to see two things, because often the older operating services, better not experiment too much with them, and because Google sends dramatically.
Well, do as 1 month and a half in one of those "bright ideas" that I sometimes get, I decide to update the site a bit to a more 2.0, and with Jorge, our programmer, Jaume, our Chief Technical and Diego, Coordinator of Leisure, I coñazo on a couple of days to make some changes.
In 10 days we have refined the code and changed the concept, without changing the urls indexed or structure of the site we have built into an old CMS in a blog that was launched based on WordPress news that are not published in WordPress, but painted in the Old CMS on the main page, giving a greater sense of updating the website.
It is nice, I feel flex and we are left with a feeling of having to wash his face web, SEO have made some changes to help us climb a little irlo ranking, and details of old have improved usability, so quiet ...
It appears that Google was not taken just as well change, and 1 week sent us into the abyss so inexplicable for me and my team. Literally eliminated 90% of the site's index and left only the new URLs. As much as we review the site we did not find the reason and swear in these 45 days have devoted many hours to think we had done wrong without finding it. The result? A fall of 90% of URLs indexed in Google, and a drop of 90% of site traffic. The same figure until a few days earlier DA FEAR:

The collapse in numbers: 25.000-30.000 of unique users a day until 3.500-3.800 per day. A domain is going to print 6,000,000 page views per month to about 450,000 per month for overnight. The worst thing is to continue without knowing exactly because of expensive and silly that you have left.
That means things besides 2, the first Yahoo! Or Live did not exist. The second that we have not loyal to brand or 10% of users.
After much give laps, our programmer concludes that might be generated a conflict between WordPress and the old CMS that, while not visible to the user and to test our spiders, and not find out anything well, or have any problems of usability, it could be affecting the search engine, which decided to remove urls 6000 index of well-indexed and with good positions in less than 7 days, leaving some token 230.
Conclusion, last Monday Jorge performs some modifications, particularly in the htacess and the relationship of our CMS with WordPress, Jaume and I do not have the slightest confidence that we resolve the issue in that way because we still had not seen the problem ... but voilá ... Google is starting to eat again urls (goes by 1,800 indexed and even much) and the traffic starts to rebound slowly. I hope that we leave in a month where we were ... We have already started climbing up towards the back.

And is that many times on things that work, "were seen but not touched" is totally fustifica, and we must be careful with the things that are foolish for not taking risks.

Alexander the Great Experiment (3 of 3)
As you know we had a few coña internal, which is called Alejandro Magno experiment, it was 3 months in trying to wrest such irrelevant, Alexander the Great, the first position for the search "Alexander" on Google. It was not an easy task in a short time in this blog, 45,000,000 of calculating the results of "Alexander" on Google.
We've gone up a lot, but it was not possible, this guy is a great SEO untando or is someone at Google. Follow the first, along with his friends artists Alejandro Sanz and Alejandro Fernandez

I've only been able to be sixth in that period, though I hope to continue to rise and will soon fix this nonsense.
But I want to mention to my good friend Jacinto, who had staked 500Eur to that and I got it this morning at the offices of Leisure has had to pay (for betting money on these things ...). We have made a picture (and a few laughs) for the occasion, but Jacinto prevent me from publishing it
comes with the side desencajada Pelin.

G1 tested in Madrid on the phone from Google
On this day I could see and taste the G1, the phone from Google. This is the one who uses Bernardo Hernandez, newly appointed vice president of Google.
It's pretty cool and Bernardo already warned that bears his serial number for the entire apparatus so as not to "lose"

Alexander the Great Experiment (2 of 3)
On Aug. 19, certainly in CONAE and plan as something casual, I commented in the office and then on the blog we call a game experiment Alexander the Great. It was at 3 months (ie before November 19) to move from page does not sound how many thousand to the top of Google, the search for "Alexander" with 50,000,000 results.
Frankly I have not spent much time until yesterday, several good friends at a dinner in Madrid, indeed, the very gulfs have wagered money on this topic, some in favor and others against and it was very quiet, I recalled the item (the truth, barely remembered it), recalling that were missing a few days ... and I looked at dates and it is true, it commented in its day and had not seen results.
There are just a few days of the term and look at Google's index am .... Now in this second datacenter.

We'll see if it gives time to position it in 7-8 days as the first in Google, will be very difficult and it is possible to achieve in the longer term and then I made a few business cards as Javier Casares, that when I saw I did thank you very much, they say something like "To contact Alejandro looking at Google" ![]()
Is the first really complicated because I've been rolling as much time to spend, because then my being a domain. And is taking a short time (4-5 months) online, it is difficult to position it as the first of the 50 million searches and finally because as "Alexander" there are at least 3 highly relevant searches, the first Alexander the Great in Wikipedia to which it is difficult to derail, the second by the official website of a certain Alejandro Sanz, and the fourth by another very popular artist in Mexico, Alejandro Fernandez ... Overall, the outcome next week, but we are already the second.
try this week to see if we give a little help.
This unknown, such as Alexander the Great did not know how you can have so many references, I think that cheats
I will complicate the final sprint. It's complicadillo but admitted betting!

Google Music, or how we are going to take for ...
Not for Google, these guys do not give a coarse in its attempt to phagocytes all sectors where smell money on the internet.
What they like they can afford to buy it (YouTube, Urchin, DoubleClick) and will be removed half of what they have been unable to buy simply copying it (Firefox, Wikipedia), up there all more or less well.
What I do not think it is ethical to eat what they prepare to search the Internet. They are trying to take advantage of its dominant position in Spain shockingly dominant! to go drifting traffic to their own products by Article 33. (I decide that it is the most relevant, and most important is me!)

The latter is preparing with the music industry ... Google Music, but will do so in the future however, if, however, and possibly within 10 years if you sell mixers also going to spend Canuto, because surely coparan 5 Early results from searches with videos on youtube of mixers, information about how Knol in a blender, and with its new division Mixers Google, which happened to come first and with a nice icon in front of a blender if the user is so useless that is tempting to click on another result of the index and to enter all the content and / or added value will be created as Google Inc. and mixers. have teamed up to as phagocytes every search term mixers, vendértelas to committee. Gorgeous.
Something like that prepared the music, go slow but steady copando and colonizing markets. Music is the next big market for at least settle in my mind that it agrees with them.
Here you can see some catches of what will happen, how Google is going to the first position with a prominent icon in the search for artists and music discs, a traffic of about hundreds of thousands of daily searches in Spanish.
What are your spears like us a product related to music?. Chico, bad luck. Only by knowing what day it will definitely start, but it looks like:
1)
Looking for The Ear of Van Gogh:

The first result is a page from the Google also highlighted with an icon, almost like a subliminal message that seems to say to your ear: "click on this; imbecile." Then Wikipedia, the official website of the group, and videos from YouTube. Not bad, eat 3 of 5, soon will be in Spanish with Knol 4 of 5 throwing down a bit to Wikipedia, the official website of the artist as no longer by bullfighter icon without shame and without stress ... Overall, the click will be residual.
Well, we obey and click on the first. His position and that beautiful blue have convinced us:

Oh surprises, it opens an html inside Google that displays some links to the disks in the group selected, go, but how this was not a search engine?
Already lost, you're totally channeled into Google without any choice (of course these pages added Adwords to avoid the rebound effect at this point, you are not going to be that you leave without passing per box).
Click on a disk, and another html inside Google, we see finally the intentions, you buy the album or mp3 with what Google will take commissions from mega-Itunes, AOL, Wall-mart and Rhapsody

If even then you feel like more of a click (you will be masoca!)

You'll see that you can see the lyrics of the song (where he was ordered Google, of course) or buy the song.
4 useless clicks to "eat" all searches for music themselves.

Where are the generators of quality content in all this?, Where the relevance? We no longer want to organize the world's information, only comérnosla huh?
Take the search engine with 92% share in a country and lead to artificially searches yourself, is it not a monopoly? Apart from sit to applaud, what else can we do the rest in all this?
Ah! Molano but much and have slides in their offices ...
Google says: Dont be evil, Google man on top ... I am not shit!

Talk of Chrome?. Often coñazo: It will not be
This morning a good friend asked me about my opinion on the browser of these poor kids entrepreneurs of God, which almost seem an NGO, and was surprised it had not published anything in my blog.
Frankly I have no interest in commenting on anything about this issue, that is the problem of Google Inc. and its press department, your browser may be that I like, not that anything or not, so what?, But what surprises me every time Moreover, and equally intimidated me, is the power of Google as a header, as a mark that organizes the agenda and decides on the Internet at all times, put on the table in what is spoken, how they talk and all this with little to invest in communication and advertising. They are the masters.
For me it is not surprising that Google will now launch a browser, I have always thought that eventually throwing up toasters. I know you think so, I must be a "lost", but to me and I am tired of this policy launch of things to come to save our lives (but these guys, do you not end up exhausted?). Never have launched a product with commercial vocation, namely to make money or obtain information and / or other corporate earnings, these guys are an NGO that works for us, just trying to revolutionize and improve the world and try to index the human knowledge: they are cool (background music of violins, please).
I was amused to see how the word "chrome" has been on everyone's lips at the time that they have decided to insist, with a press release, without the need for a global campaign or anything like that (see chart developments technorati) .

The campaigns for their products to Google will make free-of course-all media the world. A plum; evidence of the power of brand and capacity of intimidation of a header that with every move acompleja your competition.
However, I believe that at least they could have registered the domain, if only by not repeating the ridiculous and have learned from what happened with www.adsense.com domain that is not recorded in its day (why?, Or that they were to launch a service called AdSense, and that could work ...) and had to buy years after launching the product to an intermediary, after a small company AdSense Consulting Inc, which now uses www.adsense2.com sell it after having registered since 1996. The case was sounded and fun, because this company literally sank the excess traffic and operating costs since it launched Google Adsense. Apparently through whois received over 100 phone calls a day related to the domain. First think about .... Register in return for such traffic adsense! And what paradoxes? of life Google did not approve your account. and then decided in 2004 to offer the domain to Google by email, and Google was not interested in buying regardless of the price? Finally sold to a broker in 2005 and was for years the domain showing a fun and shameful message "If you think you can get rich quick placing other people's ads on your site or blog, please contact Google who has taken and used our business name without permission or compensation. "Total, to date the domain is about as Google Inc. it bought in November 2006, more than 4 years after launching the service contextual advertising.
Well here could almost pass almost the same thing: Chrome.com is owned by a company in Portland (USA) dedicated to the automobile that is still hallucinating seeing its traffic has soared in the most foolish as can be seen in this graph Alexa. Now they are thinking about possibly selling the Domain. Only parking lot of publicity might get more business from which they had so far.

The most terrible of all the history is the power accumulated in a company to put on the agenda for millions of people their products, with only publish a press release. The power to generate expectations about any kind of commercial launch like this and to convey the perception that it is not a product, but is the product and to convey the perception that they do not by them; do for you (again violins).
I really launch this or that I seem more or less important, and it is not important what thinks of their products to anyone, I know, but what strikes me is that literally is a private company to monopolize the Internet. Certainly what they have released these days, is a satellite inside a U.S. military spacecraft.

For at least 3-4 years everything that works, and non-Google is buying (ie YouTube) or you try to copy phagocytes that market (Wikipedia, Firefox) and then we'll see next. It is a dominant position at least troubling. Personally I liked most was when a search engine and little else.
Of course some of their products are wonderful and have marked a turning point; Google.com itself, Google Maps, or Gmail are great and useful products.
But I can not remove from my memory trials anti monopoly in the U.S. and Europe against Microsoft for trying to use its dominant position in the market for operating systems to enter the rest of their products pounding the possibility of competition. Does not Google doing the same? My opinion is that yes, but in a much more cool.
Since Google Inc. Have employed the same tactic colonizing, "in one hand a carrot and a stick in the other." And we are working very well and hundreds of thousands of users are google-fans and are happy. Microsoft rose 90 with the stick in one hand and the other in another suit, forgot the carrot, and have fared well. On the Internet: Microsoft rest in peace.
Happy 10 years Google, which fall due in a few days! We'll envejecéis, and within another 10 years we will see if we learn from the lesson I took away his days in your cousins from Microsoft.

The importance of Time Media positioning connection and SEO
For some time I feel that God is beginning to take more seriously the TMC (Mean Time Connection) and that is starting to be a very important factor in search engine optimization, but eye, especially in the positioning of blogs. Somewhere time before I mentioned the importance of the TMC, especially when speaking of reading in digital media and we frankly 6 months doing many experiments in-house with this positioning factor.
First I talk about positioning in Google because it is the only reliable way that could apply the TMC as a factor in ranking. Google could collect the duration of these sessions in various ways, some would be the introduction of high toolbar, the relatively high number of accounts opened Webmaster Tools in Spanish, and evidently by Google Analytics, wonderful tool that simultaneously makes me understand many things, gives Google many more details of my sites that I like.
Increasingly (and is a fascinating topic for a full post) Google interprets and values so different from blogs and websites, positioning factors have a very different weight in the algorithm, and that confuses many museums and webmasters. According to our experience and our tests the TMC is worth much more definitive on blogs that traditional portals. That is why in recent weeks have focused on blogs and the analysis we have obtained some very interesting results.

2 items currently in hand, from domains and websites similar to positioning, and they respond to a single search, a TMC has a 2-minute and one 30 seconds, the first content is more interesting, or at least more developed and should first position in the search. That sounds logical and can be readily ascertainable, but it is not the only point on which affects the TMC.
If your blog in general has a high average time of connection, you will see a high improvement in global positioning.
At present, I daresay, according to several experiences we have had, and that many people can not go to be in agreement, to position a blog that is critical to have your root citing incoming links from other blogs post (no templates or blogroll, which also include, but not equally, but especially since the text of the post), have a high TMC and have many comments in a post very specific for these positions on searches either side.
What is a high-TMC?
That is the question. Varies according to topic. There are blogs more or less casual in that it is impossible to have a high TMC. Others, however, upside down. Google thinks that you always positioned vs articles or similar post, that is competing within the theme of your blog (channel) and secondly on your post. In the network of blogs Entertainment Networks blogs have a high TMC (up to 4.30 minutes on average according to Google Analytics) and others who have a much smaller TMC to be our floor of 1.20 minutes which coincides with a blog that I consider even low quality and that obviously we have to work much more.
To satisfy curiosities say that this blog has a TMC just over 4 minutes and that since a few weeks ago one of the factors on which we value more the quality of the bloggers who collaborate with us in our network of blogs is the time that the users spend reading your post.
Is this a value that can be improved?
The answer is yes. But if a conditional. At present, but in a medium-term future may not be as simple as it is now because the algorithm of Google and adapt to better interpret the TMC.
How can the TMC?
First, the obvious and turn it more difficult. Write well or at least that is interesting and quality, do not hesitate to extend the information, analyze and explain in more detail all the factors you consider Internet. It may even be a "brick" Visually, no doubt. But if you're sure that people who write for is interested and appreciates your thoughts / information, and what is going to read without being bored, do not hesitate.
Experiment and analyzed, if you've written something that you need 3 minutes to read, look over at the end of the day the stats of that specific article, try to conclude whether or bored people followed him and saw him interesting.
It was critical, regardless of traffic and / or success of your publication, if your TMC is less than 1 minute, people are coming but the content is not of quality and do not read. Plantéatelo, because they will stop coming.
Avoid posting things that the lower half of the connections. For example, my every week I like to display an image of advertising creativity, (this is for example that of a few days ago, on Playboy) I like and what I will continue doing, but I know that my low TMC to this blog, as it is a post that can be fun and interesting, but low average consumption of time.
Promotes the comments obviously a user adds a comment, especially if it is properly formed, is increasing the time of connection to your website to be writing about it. That makes the comments a dual key factor in any blog.
Use multimedia content. It works with videos to illustrate your post, this is a trick that makes TMC win in an easy and effective, although I am sure that sooner or later Google will know how to interpret whether the time a user spends on your site is high because you've got a video, or because you're reading.

Alexander the Great Experiment
I have not even 2 months of blog and I continue with the positioning of some interest-not even very good in-obviously Google. Just mention Google because quite frankly other search engines, at least for me, and from Spain are almost non-existent (a pity indeed that there are not more diversity).
Who saw my name "Alejandro Suarez" had in many Google results, as they are a mixture of relatively common name and surname (1,500,000 results on Google). Many of them concerning the candidate Izquierda Unida in Asturias (those who know me know that I can not be me
!), Others in a well-known photographer named in the same way, and many others of a Mexican soap opera actor ... There are many other "Alejandro Suarez" in Google, but those were the main and most times I have come across in my searches .

He had some interest, perhaps more than curious interest in seeing As soon emerge first in Google search for "Alejandro Suarez." The answer came relatively soon, since before the first 30 days, on July 20, my personal blog was the first in the search for my name.
Once that doubt, that I looked like a great challenge, but I was very curious at the time timming, I've been thinking about a new and more complicated target requiring greater attention. I think it's fun to propose to my blog a challenge of positioning more attractive.
The search for my own name "Alexander" is much more complicated. First by the relevance of online and offline "Alexander" that are obviously historically and socially "something" more important than me:-D. Consulting Google search namesake as Alexander the Great, Alejandro Sanz and Alejandro Fernandez have an indisputable social relevance
and second because the first position in the search for "Alexander" on Google is leaving the first of 49,000,000 results, especially something as complicated for a ccTLD www.alejandrosuarez.es and just as difficult for a domain without seniority as this leading online month and a half.

Even then I thought about trying, trying out some small developments that took more than a month testing expensive organic positioning in Google.

Suena a chiste.
Google posiciona a Google.
