Born Lazer Rede Blogs, our subsidiary in Brazil
For me personally, and I think for all who are part of Entertainment Networks, is a special day today because we can announce something we have been working in silence almost 4 months in launching Lazer Network of Blogs, our subsidiary in Brazilian market. (leisure, is "Entertainment" in Portuguese)
I have a tremendous faith and confidence in this strategic decision to take months and in 2009 will result in the launch of 2 subsidiaries outside Spain and in other languages, as you see the first in Brazil. The second launch in June 2009 in a country that for the moment I prefer not to disclose.
They have been months of hard work, research, quiet, a lot of information, lawyers, the Foreign Ministry, embassy and consultations with chambers of commerce, recruitment, structure, design ... but finally we can announce a few weeks ago we set in starting to shoot up the first few meters of our publications.

Blogs Lazer launched four thematic publications: Beleza, Sports, Technology and Music, but at the end of 2009 will be 12 in total. Our forecast is the end of the 2009 Lazer Blogs with a staff of 16 people.
Our goal is to position ourselves in the Portuguese language in an exciting market, Brazilian, and one country, Brazil 190,000,000 of which 47,000,000 people are Internet users. That is, there are more Internet users in Brazil that people in Spain with a devastating fact, last year doubled the population of Internet users 24 to 47 million people. Unprecedented growth in recent years.
Does logical first choice for Brazil before most powerful advertising markets such as speaking English?
In my opinion, yes.
Brazil is an emerging market and there are still opportunities to position because it is not a mature market. Anglo-Saxon markets, have many more obstacles to entry into the content business abroad. The publications are much more mature, hindering competition and the advertising is harder to entry.
In advertising, Brazil is a rapidly maturing market and that offers tremendous opportunities at this time and that this year will have an Internet advertising investment of nearly $ 300 million for 2009, according to all studies will grow exponentially in coming years.
One of the things I love this country is being turned to the Internet and with many peculiarities. A clear case study is that such is the country that is more resistant to Facebook (and will not be because they are not trying) as Orkut social network is surprisingly excellent and "must have" everything brasileiro.
In front of the net to have Fernanda Guerzoni from our office in Madrid will be the direct liaison and coordinator of the network in Brazil.
Not only do we reach a new country, which is not new for us but we got a new language, something that is new and I would say that an exciting challenge. Given this barrier, it is very common in our country where the export of content aimed at markets in Latin America, I have taken the decision to double my personal blog in Portuguese, which will be available daily from http://www.alejandrosuarez.com. br every day in my post will be translated in the early hours of the morning in Brazil (the idea is to translate the contents of this blog every day and post focused exclusively on the Brazilian market). I do not speak Portuguese, but means a read, I hope that in coming months Fernanda "I evangelice"
and can chapurrear something before the end of my first visits to the country throughout 2009.
We intend to blog that we can slowly, like the Web and corporate blog Lazer Blogs Market introduction of new technologies and of Brazilian entrepreneurs in order to reach strategic agreements and value the same way investment opportunities in the country.
I take these lines to thank Fernanda, Diego Jaume, Constanza, Jose Antonio, Monica, Julian and Raul Ortiz, the effort these last few months and especially weeks to put this project in motion.
