Assault on Google Empire
(This is a public forum on Sunday at Mercantil Valenciano)
Assault on Google Empire
Publishers, media groups, organizations in defense of copyright, governments of European countries, the disturbing conflict with the Chinese government and even telephone operators raised ... by land, sea and air more fronts open daily around Google.
I detect a certain change of course in the placid courtship that seemed to have a partnership with California-based company. More and more companies and governments are beginning to fear the rule that has been built around Google, too much power, too much economic and ambitious interests are dear to our form so far and is no longer only talk about the Internet, where the presence in some markets is almost a de facto monopoly, but of interests in television, Aerospace, publishing, mobile and fixed telephony and a host of sectors.
We speak of a company with a capitalization on today more than 180,000 million dollars, value very close to gross domestic product (GDP) from countries like Egypt. A huge financial lungs, which together with the ambitious expansion plans multi begins to be a worrying cocktail, for a growing number of people.
No one had ever gone so far or so fast. Companies IBM or Microsoft, companies that reached in the past to occupy a leadership position in the ICT sector, where they tried to leave their land and impose their rule to other areas, they encountered strong opposition from governments and users but it seemed that Google had the same institutional opposition or had not until now, because what once was a "silver bridge" for activities and projects of this giant begins to be discussed and a result is multiplied open fronts
But misfortunes never come alone, in parallel with this change of winds reaching more bad news, as its shares since they began in January tensions between Beijing and the form, the titles of the firm have fallen by 6.3 percent, while the Nasdaq has improved by 3.4 percent.
And it was not the only thing that has had to worry about Google, have also arrived failures in some of its products, the most recent example would be Google Buzz, an attempt to emulate the success of Twitter, but it has generated enormous social protest, not only late but also because of the privacy issues and the futility of the service. As a result of these movements Google's good fortune goes slowly by leaps and bounds and loses the battle of social networks, which is ultimately the battle for the end user.
But if something should be of concern to Google, are the privacy claims and accusations of monopoly.
With regard to privacy attacks directly to the user's freedom. Google collects your personal data with a voracity unknown to date, and possibly has too much information from us, but is making good use of this information? Should we care? The fundamental problem that I see it, is not whether Google is doing the right thing today with our personal data, but we can guarantee that it will in the future.
The accusations of monopoly generated intense debate for and against, and are now in the voices calling for the intervention of antitrust authorities in the U.S. and Europe.
Google used its monopoly in search, with shares in which in some countries like Spain over 90%, in order to position their own products with special affection and minimize the flow of traffic they receive their opponents. Not only that, the looming shadow of dumping on its activities, which combine both power eg the mere announcement that offer a free navigation system for mobile phones, makes them collapse the world's leading, and Tom Tom Garmin traded.
In the future Google may go to provide any internet service through their financial muscle as you can position it for its de facto monopoly through your browser, you can exploit it by advertising to be the biggest player in online advertising and thus offer it free based on an advertising model. The consequences would create happy users, but also sectors that could be destroyed in its path, less competition and massive closures of companies where the giant put its focus.
Difficult to gauge who, how and when you can bell the cat.

Google has been the darling, for many users, it stood as the friendly face against Microsoft. All businesses and institutions on the Internet for years saw a market channel for "a few geeks" or afterthought it seemed a good choice Finder "so nice" now you see that is lifting the foot of the pot to capture new territories is when the penalties come.
I personally like Google use more of its services daily, and I think has done a lot for the growth of the network .. What is becoming a monopoly? Maybe, but I think this goes in cycles, before Microsoft, now Google, am social networks ..

For many google long ago dropped its motto "Do not be evil" and is a monopoly with dubious practices. For years a friend told me that the form "the owner of the internet" and I am increasingly convinced.
I agree with the post, Google is not in the collective mind as those geeks and disinterested majos whip to rich men wearing ties with his intelligence ...
Now they are millionaires who seek to monopolize orterillas internet making it a private network.
And for companies and tell you ... They're like Attila, but clearly are showing signs of fatigue failures of his Nexus1, etc ...
As a rational society we should not just google who cuts and delivers, in addition to their taxes should stop here.
It seems as if Google will produce an effect as the first child's class and successful, he is jealous.
That if agreed that monopolies should be avoided but not sink the activity of companies already operating like Google
San Viva Google!
