Music and lentils
This is the tribune has been published last November 20 by the Journal 5 Days, about the music industry under the title "Music and lentils. The truth is that the original title was "My recipe for the music industry and included more ingredients in it including" music, Vaseline and lentils, but in the pages of a national business newspaper was Vaseline ... say that too aggressive.
You can see it in pdf here or see the website here 5 Days
My recipe for the Music Industry
If the role of the Internet has been instrumental in an industry that is the music industry.
Record companies during the 80's and 90's have been living at a time dorad, which was abruptly truncated in this decade. The four majors, Sony, Warner, EMI and Universal, accustomed to huge profits and bringing together could go small and not so small record labels in their catalog, to act with pride by the user and the artists have gradually come to see cornered by several factors, which seriously threaten the viability of these giants with feet of clay.
First, the obsolete media; the CD. He has aged badly, very badly. Away from the glamor and sales have held that even today for nostalgic vinyl, manufacturing, stockaje, distribution, management and distribution of the CD sold as obsolete media becomes endangered. Die, and this time there will be even a few nostalgic you missed.
Also piracy. This is an extremely complex issue that creates the paradox of facing the industry who are, or should be, their own customers. No more absurd position of not navigate step by step by the hand of society, meeting their demands, and adapting to the times and explore new business models leveraging technology. That the majors seem to understand and insist on lawsuits against software developers, end users who download music and mp3 websites linking.
To understand the phenomenon of piracy, the industry must look in the mirror and understand that the role of the General Society of Authors and Publishers (SGAE), which acts XXI Century Gestapo intimidating and demanding the end consumer with picturesque situations specific to a satirical comic, merely feeding a defense of illegal discharges by certain intellectual elite. The digital canon is one of the shames of our time, a temporary situation that must end for the good of the industry and users, and this is a must for social peace comes, in this open confrontation within the sector music content.
Another problem is the role of major championships in Spain, without room for maneuver at the strategic level, and depending solely on their parents in London and New York, its principals have no concern that the results next quarter to please the boss. This leads to a scorched earth policy that prevents the creation of a music distribution sector at a price you can and go evangelize becoming consistent users acquired from the "dark side", without threatening, unfazed, using a reasonable price at last (away from the absurd prices of cds from the golden age of music) and responding to current demands.
Perhaps that's why I recommend lentils, must adapt to society and stop complaining that any past was better, no artist today in Spain sell a million copies to 18 Euros, that era is gone. And if the record companies claim to continue its confrontation with artists and society, my advice and prescription, if it is something scatological, would focus on the Vaseline because they will need.

SGAE exceeds Finance as the entity most hated by the Spanish
I almost had a bit of laziness to talk of SGAE, it seems easy, even a resource manual sixpenny lecturer: "If something goes wrong, get with the SGAE, you'll get the audience in his pocket ... and they are already more than used.
Used or not, the truth is that they are formidable and voracious. People are bouncing their arrogance, digital canon, his cockiness as legal and act like John Wayne in the Wild West, the rest of the world's people are Indian, and that if Teddy's men accompanied by a huge court lawyers.
(I'd love to know that these guys have cost legal services and external and should leave some of that budget for communication, to try to improve his image, but it seems that this point has no interest to them).
To me, understanding the different sensitivities, what disturbs me most is that you create, and worst, who in fact are sometimes the "law and order", I think that really unbearable and many people in Spain has depth perception of this organization as part of the system, not a private organization but as part of the administration. Come on, that if they call the bell of the house and are SGAE who want to see your room, some people may think that should let them in, as if the very police seek a warrant in their hands.
Despite all this, I understand that there is a copyright problem, and I understand that the Government is trying to solve it with changes in copyright law exists.
It's a complex issue that part of the problem is the SGAE. Their greed makes the cross certain lines have an added incentive, an incentive for rebellion and confrontation against the unjust and think "Fuck." The trouble is that in the end, just for sinners also pay but extremely difficult to find the midpoint between the abuses of the SGAE and when users and give us the hand we take the arm.
In any event, the Survey of Internet habits Entertainment Networks have wanted to ask about the SGAE, on copyright and intellectual property rights on audiovisual content, film, music, TV ...
First, the perception of the SGAE as guarantor of the copyright to the extreme places them in a historical position on democracy in Spain. Generally, the organization always worse perception of people has been painful, the tax office. This is behind us and SGAE becomes for 59.9% of respondents in the most hated brand in Spain, followed far behind by the Exchequer (14%) and Telefonica (12.8%)

What I find very interesting is to analyze the result of the perception of SGAE in 2 different groups of Internet users. Those who download music, and are unwilling to quit, or to download music also declare buy (on CD or digital) music from your favorite artists. That's where we see that the image of the SGAE is worse in the user group that is willing to pay for music consumption, and that is where the damage is clearly seen that some attitudes are making the sector. Of the Internet users who are willing to pay for music consumption, the negative perception of the SGAE rises to almost 70%

On the digital canon, 86.1% of Internet users believed that the levy is unfair or, however, only 56% is deleted, a more widespread among respondents from 21 to 40 years. Are under 16 years (33.2%) who further believe that the levy is fair. Percentage is also above average among Spanish youth 16 to 20 years (22.3%). After 21 years, opinion on the fairness of the fee is more homogenous, with only about 10% of respondents consider that this is a fair measure.
By Autonomous Communities, calls attention to the case of La Rioja, where only 58.8% of respondents considered this unfair, well below the average for the rest of Spain.

And here the detail of what he spoke before, almost 22% of the population believes that the SGAE is a public body and not a private entity. I understand that this is an almost logical deduction if followed in the media as sometimes act with the rights of civil society.
He even be a majority view (85.9%) in favor of measures to limit the power of the entity. Since, moreover, the vast majority of Internet users (90.3%) believes that the SGAE has reached abusing citizens and entities.

Privacy on social networks in El Mundo, Economia y Negocios
Last week was published this podium in the daily El Mundo, economics and business in Venezuela. The truth is that I am thrilled because this is the first time I'm working with half of Venezuela.

I think that privacy on social networks will be one of the recurring themes of 2010 and will put these companies in some trouble. If today I were to enumerate 2 tracks with which I think we're going to find much in 2010, and bet on this because next year is the year of analytics.

The eID and electronic commerce in Spain
Last week we released the first part of Internet Habits Survey 2009 Entertainment Networks based on a survey conducted in October more than 2000 people.
These days we released the second part, relating to electronic commerce and the DNIe you can see in this presentation and in which there is some interesting data.
DNIe
I was surprised that 66% of respondents are aware of the usefulness of DNIe, the truth I do not think it was so loud. another topic and see if it would actually know about the possibilities and usefulness of eID or simply believe it.
For provinces in La Rioja and Cantabria awareness of the benefits and usefulness of the DNIe is less than 50% in the other extreme are the Balearic Islands have more than 80% of knowledge.

Red.es has launched the "Use your ID card" to get the ID card, once you start is very common to be used, such initiatives are vital to achieve reverse these markers and that can extend the use of eID
Electronic Commerce
The perception I have is that in Spain, with several private initiatives were getting it to boot up with out-at length in recent years, e-commerce.
Interestingly some of the data in our study would not have imagined so basic and so high and I think that put some obstacles to this growth scenario idyllic. I find it incredible that even a lot of people do not use credit card over the Internet tranquility. EYE, I use it with caution is one thing, but quietly. That is, I am not afraid to use it in a bank or insurance business. It seems that 53% of the population if he is afraid.
The latest banking initiatives (such as confirmation SMS with PIN Code), or Internet extended systems such as PayPal are a plus for security, but we are in a country where we are afraid to pay for internet and not afraid to physically leave any place someone who know our credit card and identity card to charge us to go with her to an adjoining room as it happens in bars and restaurants.
The study is quite complete and will touch on issues such as LSSI of which prefer not to talk much
