I honestly think that if Google is the OS as your browser, Windows can not breathe very quiet. Moreover, applications of Google OS will be based on the cloud, is it useful? No doubt for many users, no. It will also be a clone-Linux, and for such systems already exist, none has defeated crowd to Windows, even made him tremble.
The applications in the cloud let me think delegating too much to others (updates, and security settings), a risk that I doubt most of those needing the computer to serious things will run.
However, in certain systems (netbooks, like the N97 Smartphone or PocketSurfer) can be useful, however there are other more OS introduced, such as WM, Android, WebOS or converted it and Symbian, for which Nokia is investing a lot amount of money after the confirmation of the disappearance of the S60.
