Domain Parking, a reason to avoid it
I will not discover anything new, but perhaps if they can stage a graphically or domain expertise that we use after a brief spell in domain parking.
I doubted very much if you have not used the domains parked. Especially because as I've said on occasion the idea of our domain portfolio is not for sale, but development. Of course if it could offer a good value on sale, but that's not the idea.
We currently have about 600 to 800 domains parked at SEDO. That causes us that while "asleep" can access the advertising revenue based on their typeins. These are very low income, who is curious to tell them that the type of DKK 400-500 a month but not much else. It is also true that other providers apparently reversed over by the parking of domains that I use, or at least people I know working with other companies are happier.
I know there are people who specialize in parking, buying domain names like portals and / or trade marks and economically exploited phenomenal www.twiter.com eg with a "t" yutube.com and stuff ... I have seen cases of 300 and 500Eur daily advertising in these cases in the U.S. but that's not our business, we have never registered such domains, we recorded only generic poderles interesting to use to generate content.
For the past few months Google has released Adsense for Domains without asking for a minimum volume. That would suggest that no great logic to work with intermediaries that ultimately what they are resellers and distributors is Adsense. Most of all laziness logic is not to move and take care of DNS hit hundreds of domains, although DNS move and generate your own system of parking fines can make massive escape with the domain parking.
But the issue of income from domain parking is not what I wanted to try, which I'm digress!. What I wanted to address is the issue of the positioning of a domain that has been years or months "parked" and your problem is not already listed, but in answer queries according to their potential.
It is clear that search engines penalize this kind of parked domains, and there are times when Google keeps for a long time despite no longer be parking. Lasts 4-5 months in starting a project that has produced the best 100EUR in 2 or 3 year parking is ridiculous. Not worth it and usually when we're in that situation thinking "why do not I shall have parked rather than offline!".
I insist that there are times that decriminalization is rapid, and in 3-4 months and start going out in search. This graphic is a domain that for 3 years has been parked. In January 2007 we started to generate content and kept in daily visits 1xxx. 6 Months later, in June and we are alarmed that despite our efforts to remain in that range and not grow, noting that traffic flow was minimal seekers search and testing we saw that our position existed but was suspiciously bad for the potential we had. The domain had PageRank, was indexed, but not responded well to the searches.
Through Webmaster Tools (increasingly useful tool) contacted Google in early July 2008. I saw no reason for any penalty is as if he "had been engaged" in their status before and the parking we have weighed up 6-7 months later.
Google does not respond almost never guess it is easier and more convenient not to, but as you see in Figure 1-2 weeks later followed with the same domain indexing, PageRank and the same content, but began to answer queries by multiplying x5 and x10 its traffic flow of traffic from Google. It is as if they had tied with pedals, and have hung letting fly.

They lost 6 months of normal behavior, time and resources for analysis, testing etc that have brought us, does that for me is not worth leaving things in a domain parking. These "penalties" may take 2-3 months to jump normally, but sometimes elongate and despair as in this case.

The theme of the initial position on Google is a mystery.
I have a couple of projects with 4 or 5 months behind and do not understand why reasonable position on pages 30 and older (or no position at all).
These same pages in the search engines of Yahoo and Microsoft are perfectly positioned.
However, other similar projects in 2 or 3 months are perfectly positioned on Google and, frankly, I fail to understand which is the reason
Demene In the forum this question was debated and the conclusion was that parked domains are not penalized by google and have no difficulty in positioning. Several experts said that this is a widespread but false urban legend.
@ miguelcp, opinions are like colors Miguel, we all have. I read it in Demene and I disagree.
Here I'm showing my experience no more. I do not have no doubt that a parked domain with DNS of the main domain parking takes considerably longer to leave the bag of sand ... and sometimes as s the case was "hooked" but still ... We have experienced several times.
I also left on parked domains, 250 domains and have developed (some minidesarrollados) almost half, my goal is to develop all or sell them, but leave nothing in parking because it hardly ever has given me good profits as well have said, the penalties of google can be quite harsh.
Very interesting @ Alexander the post, which we are not experts at positioning helps us to learn some things.
Thanks for sharing your experiences so graphically because there is no better way to understand things.
Very interesting post, but in this case I would like to know what measures will you take .. going to stop putting the domains?
It is obvious that the SEO is a dark world and there are various techniques for positioning.
That one is unable to position a page that is in parking and other people if you can. It means that the pages have problems in parking position.
I made the same techniques of positioning in several websites and each has had different positions but never had the problems you from making even with multiple domains on parking for 7 or 8 years.
Simply I invite you to take recently registered two new tests let him do the same and do your tests, then we are accountable.
We have many parked domains, little by little we are giving them out with developments and can confirm that there is no problem with that. Are positioned like no parking, some better some worse, but normal.
Perhaps Alexander's happened in one but that does not mean that Google conspire against such practices.
Greetings
Positioning I have no idea. I trust the opinions of some who are experts in SEO. Already there are many opinions as colors, but my impression is that most experts say the parked domains are not penalized by search engines. But you're also expert in SEO, Alexander, so I left a margin of doubt.
I can say that I had enough time on parked domains, I developed and then in 2 or 3 weeks and were getting a steady and substantial traffic from search engines. Exactly as with any domain not parked.
My conclusion is that the parking does not matter.
Outstanding new in Mundo.es ...
I will not discover anything new, but perhaps if they can stage graphically with an experience ... ...

Thanks for the post. I was inspired to launch a new product for web content today.
On the "type sites," the extention is not relevant, for example in my web pages have extension. Xml, but that is no reason why what I say. The reason is that to determine the type of content sent to apache http headers.
What if it is true that very well indexed "pdf files", which is not known is if you read the outgoing links.
Very good advice away, I lately also and opted for the development, parking have not had good results.
Personally I think it is time to develop our portfolio, because the economy is being felt in the opposite advertising and sale of greeting dominios.Un Nico
I have some domains are parked for me this is very useful information and advice. Thank you very much Alejandro.
I think now the market for domains is at a low ebb, but it will go ..
