Talk of Chrome?. Often coñazo: It will not be
This morning a good friend asked me about my opinion on the browser of these poor kids entrepreneurs of God, which almost seem an NGO, and was surprised it had not published anything in my blog.
Frankly I have no interest in commenting on anything about this issue, that is the problem of Google Inc. and its press department, your browser may be that I like, not that anything or not, so what?, But what surprises me every time Moreover, and equally intimidated me, is the power of Google as a header, as a mark that organizes the agenda and decides on the Internet at all times, put on the table in what is spoken, how they talk and all this with little to invest in communication and advertising. They are the masters.
For me it is not surprising that Google will now launch a browser, I have always thought that eventually throwing up toasters. I know you think so, I must be a "lost", but to me and I am tired of this policy launch of things to come to save our lives (but these guys, do you not end up exhausted?). Never have launched a product with commercial vocation, namely to make money or obtain information and / or other corporate earnings, these guys are an NGO that works for us, just trying to revolutionize and improve the world and try to index the human knowledge: they are cool (background music of violins, please).
I was amused to see how the word "chrome" has been on everyone's lips at the time that they have decided to insist, with a press release, without the need for a global campaign or anything like that (see chart developments technorati) .

The campaigns for their products to Google will make free-of course-all media the world. A plum; evidence of the power of brand and capacity of intimidation of a header that with every move acompleja your competition.
However, I believe that at least they could have registered the domain, if only by not repeating the ridiculous and have learned from what happened with www.adsense.com domain that is not recorded in its day (why?, Or that they were to launch a service called AdSense, and that could work ...) and had to buy years after launching the product to an intermediary, after a small company AdSense Consulting Inc, which now uses www.adsense2.com sell it after having registered since 1996. The case was sounded and fun, because this company literally sank the excess traffic and operating costs since it launched Google Adsense. Apparently through whois received over 100 phone calls a day related to the domain. First think about .... Register in return for such traffic adsense! And what paradoxes? of life Google did not approve your account. and then decided in 2004 to offer the domain to Google by email, and Google was not interested in buying regardless of the price? Finally sold to a broker in 2005 and was for years the domain showing a fun and shameful message "If you think you can get rich quick placing other people's ads on your site or blog, please contact Google who has taken and used our business name without permission or compensation. "Total, to date the domain is about as Google Inc. it bought in November 2006, more than 4 years after launching the service contextual advertising.
Well here could almost pass almost the same thing: Chrome.com is owned by a company in Portland (USA) dedicated to the automobile that is still hallucinating seeing its traffic has soared in the most foolish as can be seen in this graph Alexa. Now might be thinking of selling the domain. Only parking lot of publicity might get more business from which they had so far.

The most terrible of all the history is the power accumulated in a company to put on the agenda for millions of people their products, with only publish a press release. The power to generate expectations about any kind of commercial launch like this and to convey the perception that it is not a product, but is the product and to convey the perception that they do not by them; do for you (again violins).
I really launch this or that I seem more or less important, and it is not important what thinks of their products to anyone, I know, but what strikes me is that literally is a private company to monopolize the Internet. Certainly what they have released these days, is a satellite inside a U.S. military spacecraft.

For at least 3-4 years everything that works, and non-Google is buying (ie YouTube) or you try to copy phagocytes that market (Wikipedia, Firefox) and then we'll see next. It is a dominant position at least troubling. Personally I liked most was when a search engine and little else.
Of course some of their products are wonderful and have marked a turning point; Google.com itself, Google Maps, or Gmail are great and useful products.
But I can not remove from my memory trials anti monopoly in the U.S. and Europe against Microsoft for trying to use its dominant position in the market for operating systems to enter the rest of their products pounding the possibility of competition. Does not Google doing the same? My opinion is that yes, but in a much more cool.
Since Google Inc. Have employed the same tactic colonizing, "in one hand a carrot and a stick in the other." And we are working very well and hundreds of thousands of users are google-fans and are happy. Microsoft rose 90 with the stick in one hand and the other in another suit, forgot the carrot, and have fared well. On the Internet: Microsoft rest in peace.
Happy 10 years Google, which fall due in a few days! We'll envejecéis, and within another 10 years we will see if we learn from the lesson I took away his days in your cousins from Microsoft.

I'm totally with you. As a professional online communication hallucinogenic when I see the response that Google achieves in the traditional media to online and cost 0. Incredible!
That if they also attempt to take advantage of a little hitch in this type of product (a chrome wish you a wonderful future) and that's why we have launched http://www.chrome-es.com, a blog devoted 100% to your browser. To see that this is going ...
A greeting,
Well, I uncheck your opinion and I think that for some time now any action that makes Google looks like a movement "to master them all" ... enough is enough, right?
Please count the times that we speak in a positive or negative / distrustful of a launch theirs, and you will see that mistrust reigns everywhere.
I too am afraid of the dominance it has on many aspects of life in our network, but is that competition makes it worse (in some cases, much worse) and before that there is little to do.
For my part is a vote of confidence when starting to be "Devils" then I think the change of sentiment, by the time the balance is highly in its favor.
Compare the possible evil of Google with that of Microsoft ... strikes me as a bit daring.
Google has done many things that have improved our quality of life, and it has not charged for it!
@ It is not money, if I think I have thrown some good products and I mention on the blog, but has never been free, and if we have acquired, often with Gmail indirectly, through advertising, and every thing we do is tender, but it is always business.
But I think that distrust does not reign everywhere with them and cite. I really believe the contrary, the vast majority welcomed as good news its products by default
You're right with the pub ... but the feeling that you have left is that it really has been free for you (and usually non-intrusive advertising and related useful).
Regarding confidence, I agree that all Google launches are held as good news, but lately what I read / listen to regustillo has a certain distrust of substance.
Perhaps the problem is that people read too much criticism
It is not money: That's logical, people will realize the great monopoly that is Google and its launch generate more distrust. But we must bear in mind that this is "what they think 4 bloggers" to the public each launch of Google is great news that we must celebrate.
Anyway, we will be more every day that we see the great threat posed by Google in control of the Internet.
A greeting,
I think that if Google does not give a good slice of their profits to the U.S. government, there comes the reign ... but if it collapses google, or at least diversifying, who will emerge? company that has the profile to fill those gaps?
And by the way, with its system maps, and launching its own satellite and its implementation will be the wonder ... and eye, this is a double-edged sword, because the recording and visualization of the entire world will google it and of course American military intelligence camouflaged from google, but these simple Mapitico it in the systems of google maps, are not sufficient for terrorists to do theirs?
@ Julianp, no no no
God is not tumble! True, the vacuum behind them would be terrible.
I agree that we loose the reins with which we tie
People will end not bear to google ... Unfortunately in Spain we are the largest market share that Google has in the world
Well, I think in part as Alejandro, I liked Google "soon": a browser simple, fast and did what it said without those portals overworked then, a separate mailing with a lot of space, with a simplicity also noteworthy, as well as the speed.
Now is not what it was in any of its products.
In this type of reviews (the latter two) ... I meant that regustillo weird about Google that tend to leave comments.
